Evans Brandon Family Lawyers is seeking a Trainee Law Clerk to join our team in Bundall, Queensland. This is a part time position that offers an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience in family law whilst working in a supportive and professional setting. As a Trainee Law Clerk, you will play a valuable role in supporting our legal team and developing the foundational skills required for a career in family law. This position is integral to our operations, allowing you to contribute meaningfully whilst building your expertise in one of the most rewarding areas of legal practice.

Key responsibilities

Providing administrative and clerical support to solicitors and legal practitioners within the family law practice

Managing client files, legal documents and correspondence with attention to detail and confidentiality

Conducting legal research and preparing research summaries on family law matters, legislation and case law

Drafting routine legal documents, correspondence and court submissions under supervision

Assisting with client intake, scheduling appointments and maintaining accurate case management records

Preparing court documents and ensuring compliance with court filing requirements and procedural rules

Supporting solicitors and preparation of files for court appearances and client meetings

Contributing to general office operations, including telephone support and reception duties as required

Learning and applying family law practices, procedures and ethical standards in accordance with professional obligations

What we're looking for

Currently enrolled in or recently completed a law degree or paralegal qualification





Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey information clearly and professionally

Meticulous attention to detail with excellent organisational and time management abilities

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and legal case management software (training provided)

Demonstrated interest in family law and commitment to understanding its complexities

Ability to work respectfully with clients who may be experiencing difficult personal circumstances

A proactive attitude to learning, with willingness to take on new challenges and seek guidance when needed

Reliability and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality in all matters

Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment

Customer service experience is advantageous but not essential
