Queensland

This is one of Australia's most recognisable retail brands, stocking some of the world's biggest names. With stores across the country and a strong online presence, it connects its customers to the brands, events and trends that define how they live. The stores are more than retail outlets. They are cultural touchpoints.

Behind the brand sits a finance function with genuine complexity. The group spans multiple entities, international operations, multi-currency transactions and a broad suite of systems managing large volumes of transactional data. It is also a team that takes culture seriously. The people here enjoy coming to work, invest in each other's development and show up for one another in the way that actually matters.

The Role

Reporting to the Finance Business Partner, the Assistant Finance Analyst is an early-career opportunity to step inside a commercially active finance function and start building something real.

This is not a data entry role. From day one you will be supporting budgeting and forecasting cycles, preparing variance reports and performance packs, assisting with month-end activities and contributing to the analytical work that helps the business understand how it is performing. The Finance Business Partner and Head of Finance are invested in developing the people around them, and for someone who is genuinely curious about how a business works and wants to grow quickly, this is the right setting to do it.

- Collecting, consolidating and maintaining financial and operational data from multiple systems and sources across the group
- Assisting with preparation of regular financial reports and performance packs for the Finance Business Partner and broader team

- Supporting month-end activities including data validation, reconciliations and reporting preparation
- Preparing variance reports and investigating data discrepancies for review by the Finance Business Partner
- Assisting with budgeting and forecasting cycles by gathering information and preparing supporting schedules
- Maintaining reporting templates, spreadsheets and data files to a high standard of accuracy and completeness
- Supporting ad hoc analysis and reporting requests from the finance team and business stakeholders
- Assisting with data cleansing, reconciliations and validation activities across the group's reporting systems
- Identifying and contributing to improvements in reporting processes, data quality and efficiency

About You

You are early in your finance career and you know it, but what you bring to the table is attitude, curiosity and a genuine desire to grow. You take pride in the accuracy of your work. You ask good questions. You want to understand how a business actually operates, not just complete the task in front of you and move on. You are the kind of person who sees a role like this as a real foundation, not just a stepping stone to somewhere else, and you will invest in it accordingly.

You are also someone who cares about the environment you work in. You bring positive energy, you show up for your teammates, and you have no interest in being the person who watches the clock. This finance team has built something genuinely enjoyable and they want someone who wants to be part of it.

Skills & Experience

To be effective in this role, you will likely bring:

One to three years of experience in a finance, accounting, analytical or commercial support role

Strong Excel skills including formulas, lookups and pivot tables

A degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics or a related discipline

Genuine attention to detail and a track record of high-quality, accurate output

Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across a team

A positive, curious and solutions-focused approach to the work

Experience working with financial data, reporting systems or multi-entity environments will be well regarded, though what matters most here is attitude and the willingness to learn.

What's On Offer

- A genuine entry point into commercial finance inside one of Australia's most iconic retail brands, with real breadth across budgeting, forecasting, reporting and analysis from day one
- A structured and high-quality finance function led by people who take the development of junior team members seriously
- A team culture that genuinely delivers: Friday 4pm finish every week, morning teas, team lunches, milestone celebrations and a group of people who actually like each other
- 40 percent staff discount on some of the world's biggest surf, skate and streetwear brands
