We are seeking experienced and motivated Mainframe Software Developer to join our Consulting customer.

This role is ideal for professionals who are passionate about mainframe technologies and eager to contribute to large-scale, mission-critical systems.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, test, and maintain COBOL-based applications in a z/OS mainframe workplace.Write and optimise complex SQL queries for DB2 for z/OS.Integrate COBOL applications with DB2 databases and IBM MQ messaging systems.Manage user access and system security using RACF.Participate in code reviews, debugging, and performance tuning.Collaborate with cross-functional teams including testers, analysts,



and DevOps engineers.Contribute to system documentation and knowledge sharing.Support continuous improvement initiatives and modernisation efforts using Micro Focus tools.Required Technical SkillsCandidates must have hands-on experience with the following technologies:Core Mainframe Technologies (Mandatory)SQL query writing and optimisationData modelling and database designUse of DB2 utilities (e.g., LOAD, UNLOAD, REORG)RACFAccess control and security enforcementIBM MQMessage queue design and integrationQueue/topic managementJCL (Job Control Language)TSO/ISPFMust be an Australian Citizen, bonus if you already have a security clearance.
