As a result of a secured engagement with one of our National Security partners, Helix requires a Security Engineer to join us.
We're looking for a Security Engineer withproven experience of solving complex problems, who thrives working as part of a team to push boundaries and is passionate about leveraging technology to produce world-class outcomes for critical intelligence and national security customers.
- Develop and operate IT security systems: next generation firewalls, intrusion detection, web application firewalls, content filtering, API security, DDoS protection, proxies, endpoint detection and response, network detection and response, user behaviour analytics, vulnerability scanning, secrets management, identity and access control systems, application whitelisting, device control, Public Key Infrastructure and encryption solutions
- Review current system security controls and implement remedial actions
- Develop and operate systems to monitor and analyse security logs and event information
- Develop and operate systems for security automation
- Guide technical staff on implementation of security controls
- Support, plan and conduct test and evaluation activities for deliverable systems and products.
- NV2 clearance is a minimum requirement for this workplace

Security Engineer key responsibilities:

Security Engineer desirable experience & capability:
- Lead the design, build, test and operation of security systems within a complex IT network
- Lead the Public Key Infrastructure technologies, processes and procedures.
- Perform threat and risk assessments
- Develop and manage security control baselines
- Guide technical staff on implementation of security controls
- Conduct control compliance audits
- Plan and supervise vulnerability assessments and penetration testing
- Develop a plan for ongoing security actions and milestones
- Manage regular security testing and monitoring
- Ensure access to IT systems is limited to role and user needs
- Establish an incident response plan and supporting playbooks
- Manage, develop and implement IT security policies and documentation that meet customer requirements
