The Parklife Metro consortium brings together four world-class organisations—Plenary, Webuild, Siemens and RATP Dev—to deliver the Stations, Systems, Trains, Operations and Maintenance (SSTOM) works for the Sydney Metro - Western Sydney Airport project.

This landmark project includes:

Six brand-new metro stations from St Marys to the new Aerotropolis.

Twelve new metro trains and core rail systems.

A state-of-the-art maintenance and stabling facility at Orchard Hills.

The new railway will become the transport spine of Greater Western Sydney, connecting communities and travellers with the new Western Sydney International (Nancy-Bird Walton) Airport and the rapidly growing region through fast, safe, and reliable metro services.

The Chance

Come and join our Team, as our Rail Safety Advisor, you'll become a valued member of a dynamic, skilled and knowledgeable team, gaining hands‑on experience across the Parklife Metro Project.

We are seeking some with enthusiasm, initiative, and a genuine passion for Rail Safety. The Rail Safety Advisor will coordinate and manage all delivery aspects of Rail Safety on the SSTOM project as per Deed and Legislative requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Manages the compliance obligations under the Occupational Safety and Health Act,



National Rail Safety Legislation, and associated legislative requirements.

Provide direction, instruction and assistance to all project personnel employed across the project on a functional basis in relation to best practice, process, and procedure.

Stops the progress of the relevant part of the Project Works where health or safety is being or may be compromised.

Develop, maintain and upgrade as required the WHS Management Plan and Safety and supports the rail safety assurance management team with Rail Safety Manager providing assurance for compliance with OSH, WHS and Rail Safety legislation.

Leads investigations for all extreme risk incidents, injuries and hazards and provide functional assistance and recommendations for the development of appropriate preventative actions to prevent reoccurrence

About You

Tertiary qualification in Occupational Health and Safety, WHS, Environmental Health, or a related field.

Proven experience as a Health and Safety Advisor, Coordinator or Rail Safety Officer in the construction industry, preferably within a Tier 1 Contractor organisation.

Minimum 1+ years working on a rail project.

A comprehensive understanding of rail safety systems and programs as well as risk management principles.

Thorough knowledge of relevant rail safety and health & safety legislation,



regulations, and codes of practice.

Strong understanding of construction processes, rail safety, hazards, and risk assessment methodologies.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels.

Ability to conduct comprehensive incident investigations and produce detailed reports with actionable recommendations.

Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to make informed decisions in high‑pressure situations.
