SecureComms provides electronic security solutions for commercial and industrial properties across Australia. With over 20 years of experience, we offer a wide range of security products and services, providing the latest technology and expert support to keep our customers secure.
We’re looking for an experienced and hands‑on Security Technician to join our Sydney team. Working closely with the owner of the business, you will be responsible for leading on-site installation, service work and commissioning of security systems.
The role, what you’ll do:
- Install, configure and commission a range of electronic security systems including CCTV surveillance systems, access control systems, intruder alarm systems, intercom systems, network-based security solutions, etc.
- Manage installations and maintenance works from start to finish
- Configure hardware, software and network connectivity requirements
- Perform routine maintenance and fault finding on new and existing sites to ensure system reliability
- Liaise with customers to understand their requirements and provide technical advice as required
- Read and interpret technical drawings, plans and specifications where required
- Maintain accurate job records and service documentation of all works completed via our job management tool
- Ensure all work is completed to industry and company standards, safety requirements and customer expectations
- Work collaboratively with the owner of the business, contractors and customers to deliver successful solutions.
- Assist with ad hoc day-to-day and project related tasks
About You, what we’re looking for:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience working as a Security Technician installing, programming, servicing and commissioning security systems
- Competent and experienced with Integriti, Inception, Dahua, Bosch, Hills, Avigilon, Hikvision, etc
- A good understanding of IP networks
- Must be able to travel to regional and interstate locations as required
- Confidence in diagnosing and resolving technical issues independently
- A proactive and ownership driven approach, with the ability to move work forward without close supervision
- A willingness to learn our way of working, take on feedback and adapt.
- Excellent documentation skills with the ability to accurately complete job sheets, service reports and other required documentation
About You, what qualifications and licensing you’ll need:
- Class2B&2C Security Licence
- Australian Citizenship
- Working with Children Check
- EWP Licence (preferred)
