Rope Access Manager / BDM (IRATA Level 3)

FosRich Group is expanding its industrial rope access capability, and we are looking for the person who will own it - technically and commercially. The management system is built. The equipment is bought. What we need now is the right person standing in front of it.

This is two jobs in one, and we would rather be honest about that up front. The first is technical: be our nominated Technical Authority, own the standard rope access is delivered to here, and hold the line on it. The second is commercial: turn that capability into a business line that wins work.

About FosRich Group

We are an industrial services contractor based in Eight Mile Plains, Brisbane, working on process plants, refineries and terminals, structural steelwork, tanks and vessels, bridges and civil structures inspection, mechanical fitting, welding and fabrication, coatings, and shutdown support.

What the role involves

- Nomination as our Technical Authority under QP-300ENG 2.4.2, with authority over every technical decision in the rope access management system
- The management system end to end: working procedures, rigging arrangements, rescue planning and the operating limits we work to
- Equipment governance selection, detailed inspection oversight, quarantine and the equipment register
- Competence: certification and logbook verification, monitoring of newly qualified technicians, the training plan and rescue drills
- The ongoing IRATA obligations quarterly returns, seven-day incident reporting, annual internal audit and declaration
- Building rope access from a capability into a business line: the work we win, the crews we field and the reputation we carry
- Scoping,



estimating and pricing rope access packages, and standing behind the numbers you put in front of clients
- Representing FosRich to clients on rope access technical assurance, site engagement and building the relationships the work comes from

What we are looking for

- IRATA Level 3, held now or previously, and eligible to be nominated as a Technical Authority
- Direct experience taking a company through IRATA membership you have been through a Stage 1 and a Stage 2 audit from the company side, not just been in the building when someone else did it
- Working knowledge of QP-300ENG, the ICOP and TACS, and the ability to argue a clause interpretation and be right
- Rope access experience in industrial settings refineries, process plant, structures - not only buildings
- A working understanding of the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 (Qld) and the duties it places on a PCBU
- The judgement to stop work when it is not right, including when that is commercially inconvenient
- Full Australian work rights and a current driver licence

Well regarded

- Standing in the industry clients and technicians who would take your call, and a record of work won because you were on it
- Experience scoping, estimating or tendering rope access packages
- Equipment inspection competence, or the ability to appoint and oversee a Competent Person
- Internal auditor training,



or experience auditing against a management system standard
- A trade, NDT or engineering background alongside the rope access ticket
- Cert IV in Work Health and Safety, first aid, confined space

The first six months are heavy on system work registers, competency verification, procedures and the evidence that sits behind them. The commercial upside comes after that groundwork, not before it. This is also a hands on role: you will be on site, and in front of clients, not behind a desk.

We would prefer to employ you. We are open to a contract for the right person, but be aware that under QP-300ENG a nominated Technical Authority must have sufficient standing inside the member company to actually control its rope access activities - so how we structure the engagement is a real conversation, not a formality.
