The firm provides opportunities that others may not. Some people get into a bottle neck where they can’t progress; they’re good at what they do but no one will see them for what they are. My client would provide on the go mentoring to get you to the next level. Whilst advisory isn’t for everyone, if you have the aptitude and communication skills for it, you would receive exposure to advising clients in areas like tax planning, structuring and small business CGT concessions. This firm also looks for areas that staff are interested in, allowing them to become specialists in that area. This could be Div7a, CGT, FBT or GST. There will be a lot of client exposure in this role, but as with all things, a sense of trust must be built up beforehand between you and my client.
What you'll bring
As far as your experience, you should be able to take any client from end to end; from engagement through to lodgement. You would have been doing financials and tax returns for companies and trusts, FBT, Div7a, CGT, knowledge of how to structure finance contracts, payroll tax, loan arrangements and familiarity with the ATO portal.
You would ideally also have experience using Xero suite and managing and reviewing the work of junior accountants. Your productivity expectations will be measured on billables of 3 times your salary.
Please note this role is full-time in the office, located in Footscray.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years experience as a Business Services Accountant
- Experience doing BAS, Div7a, FBT, GST and CGT
- Experience with Xero and XPM required
- Excellent communication skills, both verbally and written
- Ability to bill 3 times your salary
- Bachelor of Accounting, Commerce, Finance or Business, with a Major in Accounting
