Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and support backend microservices using Java 17+ and Spring Boot.Build REST/gRPC APIs, event-driven services, and integrations using Kafka, IBM MQ, and related technologies.
- Develop scalable business logic, maintain PostgreSQL databases, and manage database migrations with Flyway or Liquibase.
- Write automated tests, support CI/CD pipelines, and ensure application performance, monitoring, and reliability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, high-quality solutions and modernise legacy banking applications.

Required Skills & Experience

- 5+ years of backend development experience with Java (11/17+), Spring Boot, and microservices.
- Robust experience with REST APIs, Kafka or IBM MQ, and event-driven architectures.
- Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL/SQL Server, Docker, Kubernetes, Git, and CI/CD.
- Experience with JUnit, Mockito, AWS/Azure, and modern software development practices.
- Banking or Financial Services experience is preferred.
- Exposure to Trade Finance, SWIFT messaging, Python, Temporal/Camunda, or Drools is a plus.
