Are you a proactive and highly organised Practice Manager who thrives in a patient-focused healthcare environment?
We are seeking an experienced and qualified Practice Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of a busy and growing Orthopaedic practice.
This is a hands-on role that combines practice operations, patient experience, administration leadership and business support. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the practice runs smoothly while delivering exceptional service to patients, referrers and stakeholders.
About the Role
As the Practice Manager, you will be responsible for the overall operational management of the practice, supporting both clinical and administrative functions to deliver a seamless patient experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the practice
- Oversee and support reception and administrative staff
- Meet, greet and assist paediatric and adult patients and their families, ensuring a welcoming and professional experience
- Coordinate surgical theatre bookings and procedure scheduling
- Manage theatre billing processes and liaise with hospitals and health funds
- Oversee appointment bookings and patient flow
- Manage practice stock levels and order medical and office consumables
- Monitor and improve administrative systems, workflows and procedures (Genie)
- Maintain relationships with referrers, hospitals, suppliers and service providers
- Ensure compliance with relevant healthcare regulations,
privacy requirements, and practice policies
- Assist with reporting, financial administration and operational planning
- Support ongoing improvements to patient service, efficiency, and practice growth
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Previous experience in a Practice Manager or Senior Medical Administration role
- Strong understanding of medical practice operations and specialist consulting environments
- Experience managing theatre bookings and medical billing processes
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise and support administrative teams
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
- A professional, patient-centred approach with exceptional customer service skills
- High attention to detail and problem-solving ability
- Proficiency in medical practice software and Microsoft Office applications
