We are seeking a Junior Project Manager / Estimator to join our Commercial Construction team. This is a fantastic entry-level opportunity for a candidate with a construction trade or tertiary qualification looking to move into a Project Management and Estimating position, with structured training, mentoring, and a clear development pathway.

About the Role

Based in Launceston and/or Devonport, Tasmania, this position reports to the Commercial Manager.

This is a structured, hands-on training role, providing exposure across estimating, tendering, cost control, programming and site coordination to help build your career toward becoming a Project Manager/Estimator.

Day-to-day, you'll assist with preparing accurate tenders and estimates using modern estimating software (such as Cubit) and AI-assisted tools, support progress claims, budgets and project programmes alongside our Project Managers and Project Administrators, and help coordinate with site teams, subcontractors, suppliers and clients.

You'll also get involved in tender submissions, variations pricing, site meetings and minute-taking, and be encouraged to explore recent technology and digital workflows as part of the way we build smarter and faster.

The role will require travel between sites, offices, and project locations across the region.

The successful candidate will be working toward transitioning into a Project Manager/Estimator role over time.

About You

You’ll have hands-on building or trade experience — a qualified carpenter or experienced tradesperson, typically with a couple of years under your belt (apprentices with the right attitude are welcome to apply too). Alternatively, you may have tertiary qualifications in construction,



including architecture or project management.

Good numeracy, close attention to detail and organisational skills, along with a clear communication style and a team-first attitude, will set you up for success.

An interest in technology and a curiosity for the AI and digital tools changing the construction industry would be well regarded, as would experience reading plans and specifications, a Construction Induction (White Card), and a current driver’s licence.

You’ll be ambitious, proactive and eager to learn, with the drive to progress into a Project Manager/Estimator position down the track.

This role is a genuine development pathway — training, mentoring and exposure across projects will support your progression toward a future Project Manager/Estimator role.
