About the Role
As part of our Environmental Services team, you will perform a variety of duties across cleaning, housekeeping, kitchen support, and laundry services, ensuring our facility maintains the highest standards of hygiene,
safety, and presentation.
The Environmental Services Attendant plays a vital role in supporting the daily operations of our aged care facility by maintaining cleanliness and assisting with hospitality services.
Key responsibilities include:
- Cleaning resident rooms, bathrooms, common areas, and other facility spaces.
- Performing housekeeping duties to maintain a tidy and welcoming workplace.
- Assisting in the kitchen with food preparation, dishwashing, and cleaning activities.
- Supporting laundry operations, including handling resident clothing and linen.
- Responding to resident and staff requests in a respectful and culturally sensitive manner.
- Monitoring and maintaining cleaning and kitchen supplies.
- Following infection control, food safety, workplace health and safety, and aged care quality requirements.
- Reporting maintenance, safety, or housekeeping concerns to management.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues to ensure high-quality services are delivered at all times.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Experience in cleaning, housekeeping, kitchen hand, hospitality, or environmental services roles.
- Preferably experience within aged care, healthcare, hospitality,
or similar environments.
- A strong understanding of hygiene, infection control, and workplace health and safety practices.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- A genuine commitment to providing respectful and culturally inclusive services.
- The physical capability to undertake cleaning, laundry, and kitchen duties, including standing for extended periods and manual handling tasks.
- Flexibility to work across a rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays as required. Shifts are scheduled between 6:00am and 8:00pm, with morning shifts commencing between 6:00am and 7:00am and finishing between 2:00pm and 3:00pm, and afternoon shifts operating between 3:00pm and 8:00pm.
Qualifications and Requirements
Essential:
- Current National Police Check (or willingness to obtain).
- Full working rights in Australia.
Desirable:
- Certificate II or III in Cleaning Operations, Hospitality, or a related field.
- Food Safety Handling Certificate.
- Previous experience in aged care, healthcare, or residential facilities.
- Experience operating commercial laundry equipment.
