About the role: We are currently seeking an experienced Very Senior Software Engineer - Full Stack Java Technologies (15+ years' experience) to join our friendly and supportive team in Parramatta on a permanent full-time basis. Location: Parramatta, NSW Salary range: $150,000 - $180,000 Role: Full-time Positions: Multiple

- Analyse client business processes, user requirements and existing insurance systems to determine suitable software solutions.
- Design, develop and configure software applications and system components across various application modules.
- Write, modify and maintain program code in accordance with approved technical specifications, coding standards and project requirements.
- Create and maintain integrations between various applications, internal systems, databases, multiple enterprise platforms and third-party services.
- Interpret functional requirements, user stories, process models and technical designs to support accurate software development.
- Provide estimation for cost and resources required for the development of the software solutions.
- Test,



debug and correct software errors across development, system testing, user acceptance and production environments.
- Develop and execute unit, integration, regression and automated tests to ensure software quality, reliability and performance.
- Participate in code reviews, technical quality assurance activities and system health checks to ensure compliance with development standards.
- Investigate production incidents and provide second- and third-level technical support for business‑critical insurance applications.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation covering application designs, configurations, integrations, program logic, testing outcomes and deployment procedures.
- Mentor team members/other engineers/developers and promote best engineering practices

Qualifications, Experience and Technical Skills:

- Relevant Degree in Technology or related fields
- A minimum of 10-15 years of work experience in a similar job role
- Extensive experience in Java Development, Kubernetes, Angular or React
- Guidewire experience is highly desirable
- Strong proficiency in Java, C# and ECMAScript.
- Experience with full-stack application development.
- Knowledge of APIs and system integrations.
- Substantial understanding of Spring Boot, Kubernetes, and Agentic AI (Anthropic/Claude preferred)
- Strong communication, negotiations and leadership skills
- Exceptional organisational and time-management skills
- Experience with cloud-based development environments.
- Solid debugging and problem-solving skills.

Australian citizens and permanent residents are preferred.
