About this role

The Senior Policy Officer will lead the development and delivery of drug and alcohol prevention and community education programs across NSW, working within the Centre for Alcohol and Other Drugs (CAOD) at the NSW Ministry of Health.

You will manage public-facing digital platforms including Your Room, coordinate evidence-based communication campaigns, oversee stakeholder partnerships and contracts, and contribute to State and Commonwealth alcohol and other drug policy.

This role suits someone with experience in public health communications, health promotion or prevention programs, who can manage a complex portfolio of work across a diverse stakeholder landscape.

The position is based at Ministry's 1RR building in St Leonards, NSW

Crown Clerk 9/10, salaryfrom $129,464 - $142,665 plus Super and annual leave loading

What you'll be doing

In this role you will:

- Manage and develop content for public-facing digital platforms including Your Room, growing audience reach across target populations
- Develop and implement drug and alcohol prevention and community education campaigns across digital, social and traditional channels
- Monitor, evaluate and report on the performance of prevention programs and contracts




- Provide policy advice and prepare briefs, reports and submissions for senior leaders
- Coordinate and manage relationships with government agencies, NGOs and community organisations
- Identify collaboration and co-promotion opportunities with key stakeholders to extend the reach of prevention messaging
- Contribute to the development of State and Commonwealth alcohol and other drug policy
- Undertake project management across all stages of the program and policy cycle
