A1 Hard Chrome is seeking a General Hand to join our hard chroming engineering facility in Lidcombe, NSW. This is a full-time position offering an excellent opportunity to become part of a skilled trades team in the industrial manufacturing sector. You will play an essential role in supporting our production operations, working alongside experienced tradespeople in a fast-paced facility environment. This role is ideal for someone who is keen to develop practical skills in hard chroming and surface treatment processes whilst contributing to the delivery of high-quality engineering solutions.

What you'll be doing

Your key responsibilities will include:

Assisting with the preparation and cleaning of components for the hard chroming process

Supporting qualified technicians with the application and management of chroming solutions and treatments

Monitoring and maintaining facility equipment and work areas in a safe and organised condition

Handling and moving materials and finished components safely and efficiently

Performing general maintenance tasks around the facility as directed

Assisting with quality control checks and ensuring finished products meet required standards

Maintaining accurate records of production activities and material usage

Adhering to all health, safety and environmental procedures and protocols

Supporting the team to meet production deadlines and maintain operational efficiency

What we’re looking for

To succeed in this role, you should possess the following skills, qualifications and experience:

No prior experience required; however, a genuine interest in learning trades and manufacturing processes is essential

A strong work ethic and willingness to perform physical labour in an industrial environment

Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety standards





The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team

Good communication skills and the capacity to take direction from supervisors and experienced staff

Physical fitness and capability to lift, carry and manoeuvre materials regularly

A current driving licence is advantageous

Willingness to undertake on-the-job training and develop technical competencies

Reliability and consistent attendance

Preferred experience includes:

Previous experience in a manufacturing, engineering or industrial facility environment

Familiarity with health and safety protocols in industrial settings

Basic understanding of engineering or metalworking processes
