This is largely due to their ability to deliver exceptional engineering solutions while ensuring the best outcomes for the project and their clientele. This consultancy is often engaged by the Asset Owners Team to investigate complex projects and present tailored engineering solutions, along with working in collaboration with respected Contractors.
You will have the pleasure of reporting into an admired Principal Engineer who is known as a technical specialist within their field. He is committed to training and mentoring his team while offering an environment of flexibility, autonomy and support. This role will see you interfacing with a range of clientele throughout the project milestones. You will also be presented with opportunities to truly consult to clientele through making recommendations that will improve their assets and delivery models.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Working independently as well as with team on various projects in line with client requirements
- Liaison with business leaders to promote innovative engineering solutions, create or amend scopes of work, act as the conduit between the Owners Team and the Contractor
- Provide innovative design solutions as per best engineering practices
- Detailed design of HV/LV power systems,
electrical switchboards and control panels, process instrumentation, process control systems and others as directed
- Work to Safety in Design principles in accordance with state based WH&S; legislation
- Preparation of estimates and consultancy proposals
- Participate in improving company resources and tools to improve design production and efficiency
- Prepare and make presentations to clients and for skilled meetings
Skills & Experience required
- A tertiary qualification in Electrical or Electronics Engineering degree (RPEQ is highly desirable)
- A proven background involving the design and installation of HV/LV power systems, electrical switchboards, control panels, process instrumentation and process control systems
- Demonstrated experience with industrial electrical systems including; Analytical instruments (Gas, pH, conductivity, ORP); PLC programming (Schneider, Rockwell); HMI programming (Citect)
- Knowledge of AutoCAD, MEP Revit and other industry software
- Ability to carry out design reviews independently
- Familiar with Australian codes, standards and practices related to the electrical sector
- Experience within a consultancy environment specifically in the electrical services sector
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in the English language, with good report writing, analytical and computer skills.
