Position: Support Worker - High Behavioural Complexity Support Workers Required

Location: Liverpool Area

Employment Type: Casual, Contractors

Complex Behavioural Support is a highly specialised role that goes beyond standard support work and requires a uniquely skilled and resilient support worker. Supporting behaviours such as verbal and physical aggression, property damage, and sexualised behaviours is common, and requires the consistent application of trained behaviour support strategies in line with each participant’s Behaviour Support Plan.

Requirements:

- Previous experience as a Support Worker or in a similar role is highly preferrable, but not essential.
- Deep understanding of and experience in reading Behavioural Support Plans and implementing de-escalation strategies. Restrictive practice implementation experience is highly preferrable, but not essential.
- A valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle is required, as occasional transportation support may be required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish trust with participants, their families, and other stakeholders.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances and participant requirements, while maintaining professionalism and a positive attitude.
- Compassion, empathy, and patience in providing person-centered care, understanding and respecting the unique needs and abilities of each participant.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, supporting colleagues and contributing to a cohesive and supportive work environment.

Responsibilities:

- Facilitate community access and engagement for disabled participants,



enabling them to lead independent and fulfilling lives.
- Provide one-to-one and two-to-one support to participants, promoting their safety, well-being, and overall quality of life.
- Assist participants in developing life skills, fostering social connections and accessing community resources.
- Implement individualised support plans, tailoring assistance to meet the unique needs and goals of each participant.
- Encourage and empower participants to pursue their interests, hobbies, and personal development opportunities.
- Foster a nurturing and inclusive environment, promoting independence, self-advocacy, and community integration.
- Document participant progress and maintain accurate records in accordance with organisational guidelines.
