The Company…
The companywas founded in 1994 and is one of Australia’s leading suppliers of all things in, on and around concrete. They also provide wholesale distribution of industrial concrete supplies to trade stores throughout Australia. With recent growth in their business, they are seeking a full time Junior Finance Manager to join their professional team.
The Position…
The Junior Finance Manager will support the Finance Manager in all day-to-day tasks while learning the internal financial and business processes. You will show financial leadership, show initiative, innovation and bring a business savvy approach to the financial operations of the organisation.
The position will responsible for supporting the Finance Manager with finance functions of the business, including:
- Performing daily reconciliations
- Providing audit support
- Annual sales budgeting & forecasting
- Completing BAS reconciliations & all other required related tax obligations
- Management of debtors & insurance renewals
- Inventory management & cost control
- Management of the GBS (Growth by Sharing Bonus) program
- Arranging debt/equity financing
- Providing strategic and operational support
- Management of payroll & staff costs
- Management of the capital budgeting process (including constraint analysis and discounted cash flow analysis)
- Compliance and governance management – ensuring all financial legal obligations are met by the company
Experience in all the functions listed above is not essential, however, having a strong & well-rounded skillset will be an advantage.
The Ideal Candidate…
The ideal candidate will have the following:
- Proven experience in Financial Management or equivalent, with a good understanding of financial requirements & leadership
- Tertiary qualification in finance or accounting, or equivalent business experience
- Sound understanding of financial trends both within the company and general market patterns
- Proficient use and experience in financial software
- Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
- Strong financial reporting and tax experience
- Sound understanding of financial governance practices
- Able to manage, guide and lead employees to ensure appropriate financial processes are followed
- A solid understanding of financial statistics and accounting principles
- Working knowledge of statutory legislation and regulations
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and organisational skills
- Efficient, reliable, has a strong work ethic, and displays honesty and integrity
