Tyre and Auto Servicing is seeking an experienced qualified light vehicle mechanic to join our established independent workshop in Morningside.
We service and repair a wide range of passenger vehicles, SUVs, four-wheel drives and light commercial vehicles. This position will suit a reliable mechanic who works efficiently, takes pride in their workmanship and is committed to completing each job correctly the first time.
What We Offer
- Salary of $83,000–$110,000 plus superannuation, depending on qualifications, experience and diagnostic capability
- Monday to Thursday, 7:30 am–4:30 pm
- Friday, 7:30 am–3:00 pm
- Absolutely no weekend work

About the Role
The position will involve a broad range of mechanical servicing, repairs and diagnostic work, including:
- Logbook and general vehicle servicing
- Mechanical repairs and maintenance
- Brake, suspension and steering repairs
- Cooling system repairs
- Timing belts and related repairs
- Engine and driveline repairs
- Fault diagnosis and electrical testing
- Pre-purchase and general vehicle inspections
- Tyre fitting, wheel balancing and puncture repairs when required
- Accurately identifying additional repairs and safety concerns
- Completing workshop job cards and service records
- Maintaining a clean and safe work area
What We Are Looking For
The successful applicant must have:
- Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or an equivalent recognised qualification
- Previous experience working as a qualified light vehicle mechanic
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
- A current Australian manual driver licence
- Your own basic hand tools
- Good attention to detail
- A commitment to quality workmanship and completing each job correctly the first time
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good communication skills
- A reliable and professional attitude
- A solid understanding of workshop safety procedures
Experience with vehicle diagnostics, tyres, wheel alignments, air conditioning or roadworthy inspections will be highly regarded but is not essential.
