About the Role

This is a hands-on support role for someone who is organised, community-minded and motivated to help families participate in culturally safe programs and activities. As a Program Support Officer, you will provide practical, administrative and logistical support to the Family Wellbeing Service, helping deliver community activities, family engagement initiatives and events that strengthen connection, promote wellbeing and respond to local needs.

Key Responsibilities

- Support the planning, preparation, delivery and follow-up of community activities, group programs, family engagement initiatives and events
- Coordinate venues, resources, materials and equipment so programs are well organised and welcoming for participants and families
- Communicate respectfully with participants about upcoming activities and support engagement and attendance
- Provide practical support to staff, facilitators, participants and families, including approved transport arrangements where required
- Maintain accurate ARC records, attendance details, activity records and feedback documentation within required timeframes




- Work collaboratively with the Family Wellbeing Service team to identify opportunities for continuous improvement

What You’ll Bring

- A practical, reliable and culturally respectful team member who enjoys working with families, community members and service providers
- Strong communication skills, attention to detail and the confidence to support programs from preparation through to delivery and follow-up
- Certificate III/IV in Community Services, Community Development, Youth Work, Family Support or equivalent relevant experience supporting vulnerable people and families
- Experience supporting community activities, group programs, events or family engagement initiatives
- Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage resources, logistics, administration and deadlines are essential
- Demonstrated ability to engage respectfully with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families and communities and work collaboratively in a team environment
- Confidence using client management systems such as ARC and Microsoft Office
- A valid Blue Card / Working with Children Check or willingness to obtain (Mandatory)
- A current National Police Check or willingness to obtain (Mandatory)
