We are partnering with a large, well-established organisation to appoint an experienced SAP Payroll Specialist on an ongoing contract basis. This is a high-impact role supporting a complex payroll environment across Australia and New Zealand, with a strong focus on SAP payroll configuration, compliance, and continuous improvement.

This opportunity will suit a hands-on SAP payroll SME who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys working across BAU support, projects, and legislative change.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide subject matter expertise across SAP Payroll (PY) including BAU support, project delivery and system enhancements;
- Assess and implement payroll configuration changes (wage types, schemas, rules, allowances, deductions, tax and super);
- Interpret Enterprise Agreements, Awards and Fair Work requirements and translate into system solutions;
- Support annual payroll cycles including wage reviews, STP updates, tax and superannuation changes and year-end processing;
- Conduct root cause analysis and resolve complex payroll defects and calculation issues;
- Collaborate with Payroll, HRIS, IR, IT and external vendors to deliver compliant and efficient outcomes;
- Develop and maintain functional documentation, test scripts and configuration artefacts; and
- Ensure all changes are thoroughly tested and meet compliance and audit standards.

About You

- Proven experience working with SAP Payroll in a large,



complex setting;
- Strong understanding of SAP payroll configuration (schemas, PCRs, wage types, pay elements);
- Deep knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, including STP, tax, superannuation and awards/EBA interpretation;
- Exposure to New Zealand payroll highly regarded;
- Experience across testing, defect resolution and payroll system changes;
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capability with a focus on accuracy and compliance; and
- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into business outcomes.
