Our client is a well-established commercial construction company with a strong reputation for delivering quality projects across NSW. With a healthy pipeline of upcoming work just north of the Central Coast, they’re looking for an experienced Leading Hand to join their site team and play a key role in the successful delivery of commercial projects.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to further develop their leadership skills while working alongside experienced Site Managers and Foremen on diverse commercial builds.
The Role
As the Leading Hand, you’ll support the Site Manager and Foreman with the day-to-day running of site operations, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
You’ll be responsible for coordinating labour, assisting with trade management, maintaining site safety, organising materials and helping keep projects progressing on schedule.
About You
To be successful, you’ll ideally have:
- Previous experience as a Leading Hand within commercial construction.
- Strong knowledge of construction site operations and sequencing.
- The ability to lead site labour and work collaboratively with subcontractors.
- A proactive attitude with excellent communication skills.
- A strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
- The ability to read construction drawings and follow specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Site Manager and Foreman with daily site operations.
- Coordinate site labour and assist with subcontractor activities.
- Organise material deliveries and site resources.
- Assist with builder’s works and trade coordination.
- Maintain high safety and housekeeping standards.
- Help manage tools, plant and equipment.
- Monitor quality and assist with defect rectification.
- Read drawings and technical specifications to support project delivery.
