The full-time Maintenance Planner will be responsible for the maintenance of all equipment across the Applicant's farming activities. Working closely with on-farm and contracted technicians and mechanics, the Maintenance Planner ensures that all equipment functions appropriately for its purpose.
Specific tasks and responsibilities:
- Maintain and manage a schedule of all equipment and execute maintenance across cropping and packing/processing operations in accordance with maintenance schedule
- Coordinate shutdowns and rotation of equipment between enterprises to ensure productive operations and essential maintenance are attended to
- Provide technical assistance and providing support to all maintenance activities
- Directing work undertaken by all internal and external technicians and mechanics
- Ensure workshops are stocked appropriately with spare parts needed,
and liaising with external providers and suppliers in accordance with maintenance needs
- Project manage any construction and structural work required
- Maintaining accurate records, including collating all relevant manuals and documents for each equipment across the enterprises.
- Working closely with Managers across cropping and packing/processing operations, and Farm Owners to ensure least amount production downtime
Experience requirements:
- At least 3 years of experience
Skills Required
- Demonstrated ability to develop, implement and manage preventative maintenance schedules across multiple operations
- Strong technical knowledge of agricultural machinery, processing equipment and mechanical systems, including fault identification
- Sound inventory control and spare parts management skills
- Effective record-keeping, project coordination and stakeholder communication skills
