The Opportunity

Reporting to the Branch Manager, this key role is primarily responsible for overseeing the dispatch of stock and all associated tasks such as but not limited to Pick/Pack, Consigning, and loading of trailers using a Forklift. This is a hands-on team leader role contributing to the overall success of the warehouse.



This role will be involved in managing the effective use of personnel including rostering and other duties. When required help with the training new employees with the support of the Branch Manager.

Responsibilities

- Responsible for dispatch of orders from the Warehouse and co-ordinating pick/pack team effectively.

- When required, lead employees and manage questions and queries primarily regarding the dispatch function but also general warehouse operations.

- When required, manage employee performance in conjunction with the Branch Manager.

- Ensure safety and compliance is always maintained, recording, and reporting all incidents to the Branch Manager.

- Ensure warehouse item locations are efficiently replenished and store inventories are kept up to date.

- Competently perform tasks in the Warehouse in an efficient, safe, and timely manner in accordance with all company policies and procedures.

- Where required load and unload transportation vehicles in a secure and timely manner.

- Organisation of transportation of orders.

- Ensuring all dispatch operations including customer orders and branch transfers meet business requirements.

- Report and manage damaged goods.

- General warehouse housekeeping.

- Assist in stocktakes when required.

- Participate in weekly warehouse leadership meetings, help plan workload and labour requirements etc.





- Play an active role in the continuous improvement of the branch and work closely with other leaders/managers.

- Assist with additional responsibilities as required.

What you'll need to succeed

- Strong and clear communication skills.

- Able to work and collaborate with other departments, managers, and stakeholders.

- Attention to detail.

- Approachable and friendly.

- Organised and proactive.

- Motivated to drive change and seek improvements.

- Experience leading a small team (Desirable).

- Container control – unloading & loading.

- Forklift license.

- RF Scanning Experience.

- Experience using SAP.
