A1 Yard Maintenance – North Rockhampton QLD
A1 Yard Maintenance is looking for an experienced and reliable Gardening Supervisor to lead day-to-day gardening and grounds maintenance work across our client sites.
This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone who enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in high-quality results, and can confidently guide a small team to complete work safely, efficiently and professionally.
About the Role
As Gardening Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing daily gardening operations, supporting and training team members, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring our clients receive a reliable and professional service.
You will work closely with management to plan jobs, allocate resources, monitor work quality and identify opportunities to improve how the team operates.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
Lead, support and mentor gardening team members
Plan daily and weekly work schedules
Allocate tasks and ensure work is completed on time and to a high standard
Oversee mowing, trimming, blowing, pruning, weeding, fertilising, irrigation and green waste removal
Identify and respond to plant health issues, including pests, disease and nutrient deficiencies
Support garden improvements, current planting and landscape upgrades
Maintain tools, equipment and work vehicles in a safe and ready-to-use condition
Uphold workplace health and safety standards on-site
Communicate professionally with clients, visitors, suppliers and team members
Keep accurate records of job progress, site conditions, staff performance and maintenance activities
Escalate issues to management when required
Complete other duties as directed
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
Previous experience supervising a gardening, landscaping or grounds maintenance team
Strong practical knowledge of horticulture, plant care and garden maintenance
Confidence planning work, delegating tasks and keeping a team productive
Good communication skills and a professional approach with clients and staff
A strong focus on safety, quality and reliability
The physical fitness required for outdoor manual work
A proactive attitude and pride in delivering quality results
Required Checks and Certificates
Applicants should hold, or be willing to obtain:
Police Check
First Aid and CPR
Blue Card
NDIS worker training, where required
Other site-specific compliance requirements, if applicable
