About the Role

/n

Part‐time: 0.4 FTE. The role is based at Bombala Public School and offers opportunities to work across the lifespan with primary and high‐school aged students. School psychologists are essential members of the Department's school counselling service, providing counselling and psychological assessment to strengthen learning and wellbeing outcomes.

/n

The position is a collegiate role with opportunities for professional development, multidisciplinary collaboration, and continued professional supervision. It includes participation in continuing career development and support for maintaining registration with the Psychology Board of Australia.

Key Accountabilities

/n

/n

- Provide counselling and short‐term therapeutic interventions to students, both individually and in groups.

/n

- Engage with and implement the Professional Practice Framework for the NSW School Counselling Service.

/n

- Collaborate with school leadership, staff, and support services to improve student learning and wellbeing.

/n

- Contribute to the social, emotional and academic development of students,



especially those with complex behavioural needs.

/n

- Administer cognitive, social, emotional and behavioural assessments, report results, and collaborate to improve outcomes.

/n

- Work collaboratively with learning and support teams, parents, carers and agencies to develop appropriate school‐based support.

/n

- Assist schools experiencing serious incidents as part of a response team.

/n

- Refer students or families to external agencies to support health and wellbeing outcomes.

/n/n

Essential Requirements

/n

/n

- Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal Education Policy, Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG Inc., and the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Strategy.

/n

- General or provisional psychology registration with the Psychology Board of Australia.

/n

- Current and valid Working with Children Check clearance – NSW.

/n

- Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel between work sites.

/n

- Australian citizenship or permanent residency.

/n/n

This is a permanent part‐time position (0.4 FTE). Applicants seeking ongoing full‐time or part‐time employment are encouraged to apply. If the selected candidate prefers part time (0.1–0.4 FTE), the appointment will accommodate the desired FTE.
