The Qualified Heavy Vehicle Mechanic is responsible for the maintenance, servicing, diagnosis, and repair of NSBC Group bus fleet and equipment to ensure they operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company, manufacturer, and legislative requirements. The role contributes to maximum fleet availability, reliability, and workplace safety through high-quality workmanship and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:

- Perform servicing, preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on heavy vehicles and equipment, including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electronic systems.
- Diagnose faults using advanced diagnostic equipment and technical documentation,



implementing effective repair and preventative maintenance solutions.
- Carry out repairs to engines, transmissions, steering, suspension, braking, and driveline components, both in the workshop and on-site as required.
- Conduct safety inspections, roadworthiness assessments, and pre‑and post‑repair checks to ensure fleet reliability and compliance.
- Maintain accurate service records, job cards, maintenance histories, parts usage, and compliance documentation.
- Adhere to workplace health and safety standards, road transport regulations, and industry requirements while maintaining a safe and organised work workplace.
- Work collaboratively with workshop teams, drivers, and fleet management, providing technical support and maintaining professional stakeholder communication.

Trade qualification as a Heavy Vehicle Mechanic, Diesel Mechanic, or equivalent.

- Current NSW driver's licence (HR at a minimum)
- Ability to interpret technical manuals and diagnostic information.
- Experience servicing and repairing heavy vehicles, trailers, and related equipment
