We are seeking a trade-qualified Light Vehicle Mechanic to join our busy team in the Illawarra. If you are an experienced qualified who can hit the ground running, take pride in your workmanship, and possess excellent customer service skills, we want to hear from you. This is a fully on-site role delivering premium mechanical and tyre services to our loyal local customer base.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform servicing: Diagnostic, mechanical repair, and maintenance tasks on a wide variety of light vehicles.
- Diagnose faults: Efficiently identify mechanical, electrical, and braking issues using modern diagnostic equipment.
- Tyre & suspension work: Conduct wheel alignments, steering repairs, tyre fitting, and balancing.
- Quality assurance: Ensure all repair work meets strict safety standards and JAX quality guidelines.
- Customer service:
Communicate clearly with customers regarding vehicle safety inspections, required repairs, and maintenance timelines.
- Maintain safety: Keep a clean, safe, and organized workshop environment.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Trade Qualified: Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology (or equivalent).
- Experience: Proven experience working in a fast-paced automotive workshop; ready to work autonomously from day one.
- License: Current, valid Australian manual driver’s license.
- Customer Skills: Exceptional communication skills with a customer-first attitude.
- Reliability: Strong work ethic, punctual, and a team player.
