About the Role

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, this part time (32 hrs) Management Accountant role is a hands-on finance position responsible for the accuracy and timeliness of our monthly reporting, statutory compliance, and payroll oversight. It's a genuinely autonomous role with direct access to ownership — and clear scope to grow into a broader Finance Manager position as the business scales.

You’ll take ownership of:

- Monthly management accounts and financial reporting, with commentary that supports real decision-making
- Statutory compliance — BAS, GST, IAS, PAYG, payroll tax, and superannuation
- Payroll oversight
- Job costing and margin analysis
- Keeping the budget and cash flow model updated and monitored,



and reporting variances as they emerge
- Monitoring aged receivables and flagging anything overdue or contentious
- Summarising the financial terms of client contracts ahead of sign-off

About You

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Commerce, or Finance
- CPA or CA qualification — highly regarded, though not essential
- 3+ years in a finance role within an SME; experience in construction, trades, or a comparable operationally-intensive industry is a strong plus
- Confident with MYOB (or a similar platform) and comfortable owning statutory compliance end-to-end
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable operating with autonomy
- Genuinely interested in growing your scope and career as the business grows
