St Edmund’s College is seeking an enthusiastic and suitably experienced applicant to undertake the role of Sports Development Coordinatorwithin the Activities Team commencing between August 2026 and January 2027 (when mutually agreed).This is a hands‑on role for someone who is passionate about providing boys with positive experiences in sport and physical activity. The ability to Coordinate and Coach multiple sporting programs at the College is essential -
38 hours per week, full time, continuing
School Officer Level 5 classification as outlined in the current Catholic Employing Authorities Enterprise Agreement with final salary based upon experience and qualifications
Ordinary work hours during Terms 1 - 3 will be Tuesday to Saturday 8:45am to 4:45pm (Saturday will incur penalty rates) and Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm during school holidays and Term 4, unless otherwise mutually agreed with the Assistant Principal Activities or Director of Sport
Should the role require outside normal hours a Flexible Working Agreement must be completed and signed by the Employer and Employee to establish arrangements for this work
A six-month probationary period applies

Essential Technical Skills
Coaching accreditations and expertise in multiple AIC sports
Experience in school sport or sporting organisation setting
Current First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
Level 1, ASCA Accreditation in Strength and Conditioning (desirable)
Light Rigid (LR) Bus Licence (or willingness to obtain)
Blue Card
Administration Skills
Demonstrated strong administration skills, having the ability to work autonomously with minimum supervision
Demonstrated strong time management and organisational skills with the ability to work well under pressure
Ability to meet deadlines and respond rapidly to change
Computer skills in Microsoft applications (and willingness to learn)
People Oriented Skills and Attributes
Commitment to the philosophy and aims of Edmund Rice Education Australia and its legal, moral and ethical obligations
Solid communication and interpersonal skills – both oral and written - ability to relate well on phone and in person to parents, students and employees at all levels
Commitment to meet quality standards and willingness to update skills
Demonstrated commitment to the pastoral care of students
Ability to work in a team environment
Safeguarding
This position works directly with children and young people on a daily basis and therefore applicants must be able to demonstrate an understanding of appropriate child safeguarding behaviours when engaging with children. All young people are owed a duty of care while in the supervision of this position.
Salary is classified in accordance with the School Officer Level 5 classification as outlined within the current Catholic Employing Authorities Enterprise Agreement plus penalty rates for Saturday work. Opportunities may also exist for additional payment via the volunteer co-curricular program.
