Position Purpose
As Key Account Manager, you will own ASKO's relationship with major national retail accounts — working directly with buying, merchandising, and marketing teams to grow ASKO's presence, deliver sales budgets, and ensure ASKO is represented at the standard our brand commands. This is a senior, strategic sales role for someone experienced in managing complex, high-value retail accounts.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the commercial relationship and sales performance for one or more national key retail accounts. Including the QBR process and rolling Strategic plan.
- Develop and grow retail business within your accounts,
balancing sales growth with company profit objectives. Including building specific range plans to meet targets in categories, models, or key feature innovations.
- Establish and maintain Joint Business Plans (JBPs) with each account, reviewed on a quarterly cycle with Key stakeholders & ASKO Sales Leadership to support this process.
- Work closely with customer account category managers & buying teams. This includes all Senior Managers and Support staff to ensure the end-to-end business requirements are managed.
- Build strong partnership with Marketing to ensure ASKO brand receives best in class execution for instore, catalogue and online within your key account.
- Report regularly to the Sales Director & National Sales Manager (retail) on account performance and progress against the retail sales budget & forecast.
- Manage external reporting requirements for your accounts in line with trading terms.
- Partner with the National Sales Manager – Retail to ensure the National Field Sales Manager and Business Development Managers are given regular focuses and objectives to deliver within your designated key accounts.
- Meet with your designated Key Account State leaders in tandem with local ASKO BDMs in demonstration of united support to own and deliver the strategic plan.
- Represent and Lead all Conference / Expo engagements as required for the Key Account.
- Develop and maintain full product knowledge and competency across the ASKO Australia range.
Experience & Skills
- Ideally, 2+ years' experience in key account or national account management, ideally within premium appliances, consumer electronics, or a comparable considered-purchase category.
- High performing Business Development Manager that has demonstrated ability to successfully lead a State Key Account and looking for the next step in career.
- Ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines in a fast moving & sometimes ambiguous environment.
- Solid commercial acumen, with the ability to balance account growth against profitability.
- Excellent stakeholder management and presentation skills, comfortable operating at senior buying and merchandising level.
- Deep product knowledge, or the demonstrated ability to rapidly build category and product expertise.
