The Role
This Credit Manager role will take ownership of receivables, credit control, collections performance, bad debt management and credit reporting. You will lead a medium sized credit team and work closely with clients, finance, sales and senior stakeholders to ensure credit decisions support both risk management and commercial outcomes.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead, coach and develop a capable credit team to achieve collection and service targets.
- Manage credit control, debtor exposure, payment terms and credit limit reviews.
- Partner with customers and internal stakeholders to balance service, commercial outcomes and risk.
- Oversee cash collection activity, bad debt recovery and doubtful debt provisions.
- Prepare credit reporting, insights, KPI updates and month-end commentary.
- Use data and finance systems to improve workflow, performance and decision-making.
- Identify process improvement opportunities across credit and accounts receivable.
- Ensure credit activity is managed in line with policy, compliance and ethical standards.
The Candidate
You will be an experienced credit leader who can combine strong technical credit knowledge with practical commercial judgement. You will be confident influencing stakeholders, developing people and using data to improve performance across a busy finance environment.
- Proven experience in credit management, accounts receivable or collections leadership.
- Experience leading, coaching or developing credit / AR team members.
- Strong understanding of credit risk, debtor management and collection processes.
- Exposure to credit insurance, insured limits or trade credit risk frameworks would be highly regarded.
- Strong reporting, analytical and problem-solving capability.
- Confident communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
- A process improvement mindset with the ability to drive better ways of working.
- AICM membership and/or CCE accreditationwould be well regarded.
