BDO

Canberra

We’re BDO, a global professional services firm connected to local markets. Our people work together to provide specialist expertise, helping businesses achieve their goals.

We inspire others, to go further. We create together, to reach higher. We build trust, to lead purposefully.

Whether you’re building your future or starting your career with us, you won’t do it alone. From creating solutions for our clients to building careers for our people, we shape what matters, and that’s where you come in.

About the Role

Join BDO as a Vacationer in our Cyber team in January 2027!

Cyber sits at the intersection of technology, risk and business.

At BDO, our Cyber team helps organisations understand and manage cyber risks, strengthen governance and build resilience in an increasingly digital world.

While you’ll develop an understanding of cyber security concepts and frameworks, this is primarily a consulting and advisory role. The focus is on helping organisations assess cyber risks, improve security capability, meet regulatory requirements and make informed business decisions.

You could find yourself helping:

- An organisation understand cyber risks that could impact customers, operations or reputation
- A leadership team make informed decisions about cyber security investments
- A client strengthen governance and compliance frameworks
- A business improve its cyber security capability and resilience
- An organisation respond to changing regulatory and security requirements

Because cyber incidents can lead to financial loss, operational disruption and reputational damage, organisations rely on Cyber professionals to help them understand risks, prioritise actions and strengthen their security posture.

This role is best suited to students who are interested in the relationship between technology,

risk and business, and who enjoy problem‑solving, stakeholder engagement and advisory work.

Please note:

This role is focused on cyber consulting, governance, risk and advisory services. It is not a software development, engineering or highly technical cyber security role.
