We're Looking for an Experienced Drill Rig Operator

QPS Ground Engineering Services is looking for an experienced Drill Rig Operator to join our growing team. If you're a reliable operator who takes pride in producing high-quality work and enjoys working on a variety of construction, civil and ground engineering projects, we'd love to hear from you.

Working under a Civil Construction CFMEU Enterprise Agreement, you'll enjoy excellent pay and conditions, weekly pay, overtime opportunities, and the opportunity to travel and work away on projects throughout South-East Queensland and across Australia.

About the Role

Operate drill rigs safely and efficiently on construction, civil and ground engineering projects.

Carry out drilling for rock anchors, soil nails, micropiles, ground improvement and other specialist drilling applications.

Read and follow engineering drawings, drilling plans and project specifications.

Perform pre-start inspections and basic servicing of drill rigs and associated equipment.





Monitor drilling performance and adjust operating techniques to suit varying ground conditions.

Complete daily maintenance, housekeeping and equipment checks.

Work closely with supervisors and site crews to achieve daily production targets.

Follow all site safety procedures, risk assessments and environmental requirements.

Identify equipment faults or maintenance requirements and report them promptly.

Assist with general construction and labouring duties as required.

Skills & Experience

To be successful in this role, you'll have:

Previous experience operating drill rig equipment on construction, civil or mining sites.

Experience working with Boart Longyear, Hutte, Soilmec and/or Comacchio drill rigs preferred but not essential.

A solid commitment to workplace health and safety.

The ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications and work instructions.

A current White Card (essential).

The ability to work as part of a team and travel when required.

A positive attitude and strong work ethic.
