Specialist Assessment Services (SAS) is seeking experienced health professionals to join our network to deliver independent, accurate and timely assessments and reports relating to the service requirements of people with an injury, illness or disability.
SAS was selected through a competitive tender process by the Australian Government Department of Social Services to deliver the National Panel of Assessors (NPA) program.
We are seeking experienced health professionals to join our network and have opportunities available across multiple regions.
What You’ll Be Doing
As part of the National Panel of Assessors, you will play a critical role in helping people maintain meaningful employment by delivering independent, accurate and person-centred assessments and reports, including:
Ongoing Support Assessments: Ensure eligible people with disability or injury receive the ongoing workplace support they need to maintain employment.
Supported Wage System Assessments: Determine productivity-based wages for eligible people with disability.
Workplace Modification Assessments: Assess the suitability of workplace modifications, including equipment and assistive technology, to support people with disability or injury in the workplace.
Other assessments may include pre-employment assessments, return-to-work assessments, functional capacity assessments, rehabilitation needs assessments, pain management assessments,
and other discipline-specific assessments.
Assessments are conducted on site at workplaces, Inclusive Employment Australia provider offices, or in private and confidential serviced offices or community locations.

What You’ll Bring
Qualifications and current registration as an Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapist or Accredited Exercise Physiologist
A minimum of two years' experience in the disability and/or return-to-work sector. Experience with workplace modifications and assistive technology is highly regarded.
Solid interpersonal, assessment and report-writing skills
Ability to work independently, reliably and within strict timeframes
Sound IT literacy and a commitment to data security
Eligibility to work in Australia, with a current driver's licence and access to a comprehensively insured vehicle
Ability to successfully complete mandatory pre-employment checks, including background verification
An ABN and appropriate insurance (essential)
