We are seeking two Senior Control Systems Engineers for an initial 6‑month contract roles based in Brisbane. These positions suit experienced automation engineers who excel in structured PLC development, standards‑driven environments, and AI‑assisted engineering workflows.

The Role

As a Senior Control Systems Engineer, you will focus on the development, quality, and governance of PLC code, with an emphasis on standardisation, traceability, and testing.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Designing and implementing PLC logic using established architectures and templates
- Developing and evolving equipment templates and common logic patterns
- Reviewing PLC implementations to ensure alignment with coding, naming, and deployment standards
- Maintaining clear traceability between control code, Functional Descriptions, and associated test documentation
- Investigating and resolving complex faults identified during bench testing and simulation
- Following structured version control and change management processes
- Supporting continuous improvement of engineering methods, standards, and tooling

You will bring robust hands‑on experience across industrial automation platforms, including:

- PLC programming:



Rockwell Studio Designer
- SCADA systems: Citect and/or FactoryTalk
- Industrial networking and communications
- Exposure to scripting or automation languages (advantageous)

The ideal contractor will also demonstrate:

- A solid understanding of source control and configuration management
- A highly organised, structured, and methodical working style
- Strong attention to detail and documentation discipline
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
- Clear communication skills and a strong focus on engineering quality
