TRM Fencing
Rockhampton
If you’re a capable tradesperson, rural worker or practical hands‑on operator who knows how to get a crew moving, this is a solid opportunity. We’re looking for a reliable Leading Hand to help run fencing and construction crews across Central Queensland, keeping jobs organised, safe and finished to a quality standard.
At TRM, you’ll have steady work, reliable hours and a team you can count on. You’ll work with a great team, lead from the front, and help build a crew that takes pride in doing the job properly. TRM’s work is built around hard work, loyalty, capability, quality and respect, with a strong focus on safe, compliant and tidy worksites.
If you’ve got a strong work ethic, can think on your feet, and know how to get the best out of a team, we want to hear from you.
Whether you come from a trade, rural background, fencing, or construction work – we’ll value the experience you bring.
What’s on offer
- Above award remuneration package including paid travel
- Accommodation & meals when working away
- Consistent work, reliable hours, & assured pay
- Opportunity to gain tickets, skills, and valuable experience
- Clear pathway to progress into higher roles
- Well maintained modern equipment & organised job sites
- Robust safety systems that make the job easier, not harder
- Supportive team culture with owners who invest in your growth
- Balanced roster with a mix of local & away work
- Opportunity to lead crews on rural, commercial and civil fencing projects
The role
Working across Central Queensland on fencing and construction projects,
you’ll help lead a crew delivering quality work on well‑run job sites. This role suits someone who is practical, steady under pressure and confident giving direction while still jumping on the line with the team.
You’ll be responsible for helping organise daily work, setting the pace on site, supporting safe work practices, checking materials and equipment, communicating with supervisors, and making sure jobs are completed neatly, efficiently and to TRM standards.
You’ll need
- Previous experience in fencing, construction, civil, rural, trade or hands‑on outdoor work
- Ability to lead by example and keep a crew moving
- Strong work ethic and a practical, “have a go” mindset
- Confidence reading site instructions, following plans and working to job requirements
- Good communication skills with crews, supervisors, clients and other contractors
- Fit, healthy, and capable of physical outdoor work
- Honest, reliable, and able to work as part of a team
- Attention to detail and pride in your work
- Commitment to working safely and keeping sites tidy
- Current & valid drivers licence
- Construction white card
- Machinery tickets, HR licence, fencing experience or supervisory experience will be highly regarded
Rural, fencing or trade background is strongly valued, especially if you’re used to working outdoors, solving problems on the go and taking responsibility for getting the job done.
This is a genuine opportunity to step into a Leading Hand role with a growing Central Queensland business, earn well, develop your skills, and build a long‑term career in the industry.
Applications close 17 July 2026.
