About the role

Greenstaff Medical is seeking an experienced Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Registered Nurse to join our team on a casual basis across Melbourne, Victoria. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled nursing professional to deliver critical care services in a dynamic healthcare environment. As an ICU Registered Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing specialised nursing care to patients requiring intensive medical support. This casual position offers flexibility whilst allowing you to make a significant impact on patient outcomes within one of the most demanding and rewarding areas of healthcare.

What you'll be doing

- Providing direct patient care and clinical assessment to critically ill patients requiring intensive monitoring and support
- Administering medications, managing intravenous therapies, and monitoring patient responses to treatment protocols
- Operating and maintaining specialist ICU equipment including ventilators, cardiac monitors and haemodynamic monitoring systems
- Performing detailed patient observations and documenting vital signs, clinical changes and interventions accurately in patient records
- Collaborating with the multidisciplinary team including physicians, allied health professionals and other nursing staff to develop and implement individualised care plans
- Providing compassionate support and communication to patients and their families during critical illness
- Maintaining strict infection control procedures and adhering to health and safety protocols
- Responding promptly to patient deterioration and escalating concerns to senior clinical staff
- Contributing to a culture of continuous learning and professional development within the ICU setting

What we're looking for

- Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) in Australia
- Substantial experience working in an Intensive Care Unit or similar critical care setting
- Strong clinical knowledge of critical care nursing, including ventilation management,



haemodynamic monitoring and complex medication administration
- Advanced life support qualification (ALS) or willingness to obtain this certification
- Excellent assessment, decision-making and clinical reasoning skills in fast-paced, high-acuity environments
- Ability to prioritise effectively and manage multiple complex patients simultaneously
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with patients, families and multidisciplinary teams
- Demonstrated commitment to patient safety, quality care and professional practice standards
- Flexibility and adaptability to work across various ICU specialties and departments
- Current Working with Children Check (if required by facility)
- Vaccination requirements in accordance with current healthcare employer policies
