About the role

We are seeking a permanent full-time People & Culture Generalist to join our People & Culture team.

Reporting to the Manager – People & Culture, you will provide practical HR advice and operational support across the full employee lifecycle. Working closely with leaders across the College, you will deliver contemporary people solutions, coach leaders through day-to-day people matters, and ensure HR processes are efficient, compliant and people-focused.

This is a broad generalist role that combines employee relations, recruitment, onboarding, compliance, workforce administration and continuous improvement. You'll play an important role in creating a positive employee experience while supporting the College's commitment to attracting, developing and retaining exceptional people.

Key responsibilities:

- Provide practical advice and coaching to leaders across a broad range of employee relations matters, including performance, conduct, workplace concerns and employee wellbeing.
- Coordinate recruitment, onboarding, probation and offboarding activities to deliver a positive employee experience.
- Manage HR operations across the employee lifecycle, including employment documentation, contract changes and employee records.




- Ensure compliance with employment legislation, Enterprise Agreements, Child Safe requirements and College policies.
- Coordinate Blue Card compliance, mandatory training, WorkCover and rehabilitation processes.
- Maintain HR systems, workforce reporting and accurate employee records.
- Support the implementation of People & Culture initiatives, policies and continuous improvement projects.
- Deliver responsive, professional and customer-focused People & Culture services across the College.

The ideal candidate will be a team player who has strong organisational and interpersonal skills, along with a collaborative and empathetic approach. The successful candidate will have:

Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Employment Relations or a related discipline.

Demonstrated experience in a broad Human Resources or People & Culture Generalist role.

Sound knowledge of Australian employment legislation, industrial relations and contemporary HR practices.

Experience managing employee relations matters and supporting leaders through people management processes.

Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver quality outcomes.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships across all levels of an organisation.

High attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and accurate records.

A collaborative, proactive and customer-focused approach, with the flexibility to adapt in a dynamic setting.

Experience using HR information systems and Microsoft Office. Experience within an education environment will be highly regarded.
