Mechanical & Electrical (M&E;) Engineer - Data Centres

About the Role
We are seeking experienced Mechanical & Electrical (M&E;) Engineers to join a leading contractor delivering large-scale hyperscale and mission-critical data centre projects across NSW. This role will involve working on the delivery of complex MEP packages from construction through to commissioning, ensuring quality, programme, and safety objectives are achieved.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the delivery of mechanical and/or electrical services packages throughout the project lifecycle.
Coordinate subcontractors to ensure works are completed safely, on time, and to specification.
Oversee QA/QC processes, including ITPs, inspections, testing, commissioning, and handover documentation.
Review and coordinate design documentation, resolve RFIs, and participate in constructability reviews.
Monitor project progress, identify risks, and support programme delivery.
Liaise with clients, consultants, suppliers, and internal project teams.
Ensure compliance with project specifications, Australian Standards, and HSE requirements.
Support commercial activities, including procurement, forecasting, and variation management.
Requirements




Degree qualified in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering.
Proven experience delivering M&E; packages on data centre projects.
Solid understanding of critical building services, including HVAC, chilled water, electrical distribution, UPS, generators, switchgear, BMS, and fire services.
Experience managing subcontractors, QA/QC, testing, and commissioning.
Ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders within a live construction environment.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Desirable Experience
Experience on hyperscale or mission-critical facilities.
Exposure to Tier 1 contractors or major principal contractors.
Knowledge of commissioning processes and integrated systems testing.
Experience with BIM, Procore, Aconex, or similar project management platforms.
