On a day to day basis you will:
- Assisting Senior /Account Managers in client interactions, gaining hands‑on experience while gaining an understanding of the insurance industry.
- Be answering the phone and helping with enquiries
- Assisting clients where possible, diverting to the relevant member of the team or taking a message where appropriate.
- Actioning of debtors
- Performing data entry relating to clients and their insurance policies
- Claims lodgement, follow up, and assisting during the process
- Data entry of new business policies, renewals, endorsements and certificates of currency
- Ad hoc tasks as required
Skills/Abilities/Knowledge:
- Willingness to learn and understanding of basic insurance principles.
- Intuitive decision making-rational decision making, using analytics, facts and step‑by‑step logic to come to a decision.
- Initiative and Self-Motivation- willingness to show initiative and organise self to work autonomously.
- Technologically literate -in particular, strong Microsoft Office experiences, specifically Excel and Word. Robust understanding of insurance software (e.g. Sunrise) is preferable.
- Mathematics and basic Accounting -Competent with numbers and understanding of financial principles and how they apply to insurance. E.g. GST, Stamp Duty etc.
- Troubleshooting- Find solutions to problems as they arise.
- Active Listening- Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
- Social Perceptiveness- Being aware of others' reactions and understanding why they react as they do.
- Active Learning- Understanding the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision‑making.
- Strong Written & Verbal Communication- Talking to others to convey information effectively. Writing communication appropriate to the audience, with accurate spelling and grammar.
- Service Orientation- Actively looking for ways to help people and business achieve their goals.
- Sense of urgency- Demonstrate a sense of urgency in all occasions and an ability to work diligently unsupervised.
