The role of the Sales Cadet has the following primary objectives:
- - Responsible for achieving sales budgets selling TorchMedia out-of-home product suite, specifically across Sydney Ferries, My Fast Ferries and Sydney Metro.
- - Generate and qualify new business leads and initiate contact with prospective clients.
- - Build and maintain relationships with a broad Sydney direct client base to encourage trial of the format and drive repeat and long-term business.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
SALES PERFORMANCE
- - Thorough understanding of all TorchMedia assets and unique selling points – in particular, Sydney Ferries, My Fast Ferries and Sydney Metro.
- - Understanding of Out-of-Home and other media competitive set.
- - Understanding and ability to use MOVE (Measurement of Outdoor Visibility and Exposure), Out-of-Home industry standard measurement/accountability tool.
- - Generating new sales leads, making contact with prospective clients to maintain a robust forward pipeline.
- - With the support of TorchMedia’s Head of Sales, present TorchMedia’s assets to all levels of Direct client, from Blue-chip to local business.
- - Tailoring TorchMedia standard media kits and proposal templates to potential advertisers with supporting data to illustrate how TorchMedia assets meet their needs.
- - Preparation of strategic sales plans and value propositions for your target clients.
- - Achievement of yield objectives and individual sales targets.
- - Ensure sales activity complies with relevant legal and ethical standards.
ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT
- - Development and maintain relationships across Sydney direct clients.
- - Providing clients with proof of posting, post campaign, proof of performance/follow up and research analysis.
- - Engaging in site visits to facilitate building the TorchMedia brand,
as well as fostering relationships to ensure repeat business.
- - Maintaining contact throughout campaign duration to ensure client satisfaction.
SALES TEAM INTERACTION
- - Attend weekly team meeting, reporting on forecasted sales for the week, contributing and taking notes for follow up as required.
- - Attend industry functions, training, team and company events as required.
- - Assisting team with lead generation and client entertainment outside of your immediate patch, passing on relevant leads to assist with reaching a team budget.
REPORTING, SYSTEMS & PROCEDURES
- - Weekly pipeline management and revenue projections.
- - Provide regular updates and forecasts of business activity – through sales meetings, pipeline, presentations to Board upon request, or regular WIPs with Manager.
- - Abide by agreed standard work procedures and established occupational health and safety requirements.
- - Responsible for reporting accidents, incidents and injuries as well as hazards/hazardous activities to Human Resources and WHS Management Committee.
- - Work within Company policies and procedures and undertake other duties as may be directed from time to time.
RELEVANT QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- - Ability to work autonomously, highly motivated, and self-disciplined approach to work.
- - Creative with the ability to think laterally and creatively - entrepreneurial mindset.
- - Interest in understanding Out-of-Home media landscape and competitive landscape.
- - Professional, personable, and supportive with the ability to build rapport with clients, stakeholders and internally with TorchMedia team.
- - Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
- - Excellent computer literacy and experience in utilising Microsoft Office suite.
