Sunstate Petroleum is seeking an experienced Fuel Tanker Driver to join our transport operations team in Brisbane. This is a full-time position based in Brisbane QLD 4000. As a Fuel Tanker Driver, you will play a critical role in our supply chain, ensuring the safe and timely delivery of fuel products to our customers across the region. This position is essential to maintaining our reputation for reliability and safety in the road transport industry.
What you'll be doing
- Operating a fuel tanker vehicle in compliance with all relevant road transport regulations and company safety protocols
- Conducting pre and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the tanker is in safe working condition
- Loading and unloading fuel products safely and efficiently at designated locations
- Maintaining accurate records of deliveries, fuel quantities and customer interactions
- Adhering to strict safety procedures when handling hazardous materials and operating in populated areas
- Communicating effectively with dispatch, customers and other team members to coordinate deliveries
- Maintaining a skilled appearance and demeanour whilst representing Sunstate Petroleum to customers
- Ensuring compliance with all environmental regulations and company policies during fuel transport operations
What we're looking for
- Valid Heavy Rigid (HR) or Articulated (artic) driver's licence with a clean driving record
- Current Dangerous Goods (DG) licence endorsement
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience driving tanker vehicles or similar heavy vehicles
- Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and hazardous materials handling procedures
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet delivery schedules
- Physical fitness and ability to perform manual tasks associated with loading and unloading
- A proactive approach to workplace safety and willingness to follow all safety protocols
- Reliability, punctuality and professional work ethic
- Familiarity with GPS systems and electronic delivery documentation systems is advantageous
