The Opportunity

Reporting to the WHS Manager, the WHS Advisor plays a key role in fostering a positive safety culture across a large and diverse operational environment. This position provides specialist WHS advice, coaching and support to leaders and stakeholders while contributing to the ongoing development and implementation of a robust WHS Management System.

This is a highly autonomous role requiring a proactive and hands-on approach, with regular travel across assigned sites and locations (Brisbane metro and some regional areas). The successful candidate will partner closely with managers and stakeholders to drive compliance, improve safety performance and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

- Build strong business partnerships with leaders and stakeholders to identify WHS risks, trends and improvement opportunities;
- Deliver coaching, mentoring and training to build safety capability and leadership accountability;
- Conduct workplace inspections, hazard assessments and risk reviews to support safe work practices;
- Investigate incidents and support the development and implementation of corrective and preventative actions;
- Undertake internal WHS audits and support stakeholders to address identified gaps and compliance requirements;
- Interpret and apply WHS legislation, regulations and standards to organisational policies and practices;
- Contribute to the ongoing development, implementation and improvement of the WHS Management System; and
- Analyse safety data, identify emerging risks and contribute to strategic WHS initiatives and projects.

- Investigate incidents and support the development and implementation of corrective and preventative actions;
- Undertake internal WHS audits and support stakeholders to address identified gaps and compliance requirements;
- Interpret and apply WHS legislation, regulations and standards to organisational policies and practices;




- Contribute to the ongoing development, implementation and improvement of the WHS Management System; and
- Analyse safety data, identify emerging risks and contribute to strategic WHS initiatives and projects.

To be successful in this role you will have

- Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (or equivalent practical experience in a WHS advisory capacity);
- Demonstrated experience providing WHS advice and support within a large, multi-site organisation;
- Strong working knowledge of Australian WHS legislation, compliance obligations and risk management principles;
- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence, coach and build trusted relationships at all levels;
- High-level written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail and report-writing capability;
- A current driver's licence and the ability to travel as required; and
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities autonomously.
