We are now looking for a Senior Designer to join our HQ team located in Newstead, Brisbane.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As the Senior Designer at VRG GRL, you will have a keen eye for detail, a deep understanding of fashion trends, and a passion for creating high-quality garments. You will be responsible for leading the design process, from concept to final product, ensuring that our collections are both innovative and commercially successful.
The Senior Designer is accountable for delivering commercially aligned, high-quality designs within agreed timelines, seasonal frameworks, and department standards. This role is responsible for maintaining design quality, supporting cross-functional collaboration, and contributing to the successful execution of collections across all stages of development.
This is an exciting prospect for a creative, detail-focused and highly organised designer who thrives in a fast-paced fashion environment and has a proven track record of producing high-quality garments.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
Design & Collection Development
Lead the design and development of seasonal collections from initial concept through to final product, ensuring all designs align with the VRG GRL core customer profiles
Research and present mood boards, colour palettes, upcoming forecast trends, exclusive designs and concepts for future collections
Create exclusive prints and source new fabric bases and trims
Oversee the selection of fabrics, colours, and trims for each collection
Lead and help action colour-ups in best-selling styles
Develop capsule ranges
Stay informed about the latest trends and innovations, as well as VRG GRL’s best-selling products, to ensure we do not miss out on sales
Product Development & Technical Execution
Work closely with factories and the Product team to ensure designs are accurately translated into final garments
Brief and assist the team where needed on weekly design specification packs with CAD illustrations, fabric details and measurements that align with VRG GRL core customer profiles and design meeting briefs
Alongside the Production team, help run fit sessions to ensure designs are communicated clearly
Maintain strong relationships with manufacturing partners
Deliver against agreed deadlines, KPIs and seasonal milestones
Collaborate with Marketing and Styling teams to ensure the vision for VRG GRL products is brought to fruition
Partner with Merchandising to design within agreed pricing architecture and category strategies
Lead and mentor other design team members to help them grow and develop within the company
Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines are met and quality standards are maintained
ABOUT YOU
Creative, open minded and adaptable to change
You have a good understanding of garment technical knowledge
You are proficient in Illustrator and Photoshop
You have experience designing garments and prints in a fast-paced environment
You are detail focused, highly organised and can work in a fast-paced environment
You have proven track record of producing garments that are of high quality
You have 3–5+ years’ experience in the industry with a degree or similar in Fashion and Design
