Assistant Accountant | Commercial Construction | Immediate Start | Contract
An established commercial construction business is seeking an experienced Assistant Accountant to join their finance team on a contract basis.

The Role:
Daily bank reconciliations and resolving reconciling items
Assisting with month-end close including accruals, prepayments and general ledger reconciliations
Preparing balance sheet and overhead reconciliations
Supporting BAS preparation and other statutory reporting
Assisting with monthly management reporting and financial analysis
Maintaining accurate financial records and supporting audit requirements
Assisting with forecasting and financial reporting
Working closely with the Accounts Payable team to ensure accurate coding and cost allocation
Supporting the administration of bank guarantees,



bonds and trust accounts
Providing ad hoc reporting and analysis as required
About You:
Minimum 3 years' experience in an Assistant Accountant position
Previous experience within construction, engineering, property or another project-based industry is highly regarded
Strong understanding of month-end accounting processes
Experience with bank reconciliations, general ledger reconciliations, accruals and prepayments
Jobpac or equivalent software experience
Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
CPA/CA studying or completed, or a tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance or Commerce
