About the Role and You
As Centre Manager, you will provide visible leadership across all aspects of the Centre, overseeing aquatic operations, health and fitness services, customer experience, financial performance, safety, and compliance. You will build a positive, high-performing culture while delivering innovative programs, growing participation and memberships, and developing strong partnerships with community organisations, health providers, schools, and other key stakeholders.
You are a strategic and commercially minded leader with exceptional communication and people management skills. You thrive in a fast-paced workplace, can balance operational priorities with long-term planning,
and are passionate about creating exceptional customer experiences while empowering your team to succeed.
You have proven experience leading teams within the aquatic, recreation, health, fitness, or leisure industry and are committed to delivering safe, sustainable, and inclusive services that support the health and wellbeing of the George Town community.
Selection Criteria
1. Demonstrated experience leading and developing high-performing teams.
2. Demonstrated strategic leadership capability.
3. Demonstrated commercial and financial acumen.
4. Demonstrated experience managing complex operations.
5. Well-developed communication, negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills.
6. Demonstrated knowledge and experience in governance, risk management and regulatory compliance.
7. Highly developed problem-solving, organisational and decision-making skills.
8. Relevant tertiary qualifications in Recreation, Leisure, Sport Management, Business or a related discipline (or significant equivalent experience).
