Your new company A small Federal Government agency is seeking an experienced API Developer to join its Technology Services Division as the agency brings critical system integration capability in-house.

You will play a key role in designing, building and supporting secure, scalable APIs that enable the exchange of health information across Australia's digital healthcare ecosystem.
/n
Your new role: Working within a complex integration environment, you will develop contemporary RESTful APIs, contribute to cloud-native delivery practices, and help improve interoperability between clinical and administrative systems.

What you'll be doing
/n
/n
- Designing and developing secure Java-based REST APIs
/n
- Delivering APIs aligned to HL7 FHIR healthcare standards
/n
- Building solutions with a focus on privacy, security and auditability
/n
- Implementing OAuth authentication and authorisation controls
/n
- Supporting CI/CD pipelines and Dev Ops practices
/n
- Working across containerised environments including Docker and Kubernetes
/n
- Collaborating with technical teams, vendors and integration partners
/n
- Contributing to API testing, automation and performance improvement initiatives
/n/n
What you'll need to succeed
/n
We're looking for developers with strong API engineering experience and a background in modern software delivery environments.
/n

- HL7 FHIR experience
/n
- Healthcare application delivery
/n
- Java development
/n
- REST API design and development
/n
- API testing and performance testing
/n
- OAuth security frameworks
/n
- CI/CD pipelines
/n
- Containerisation concepts
/n
- Dev Ops or Git Ops practices
/n
- End-to-end testing approaches
/n
- Highly regarded: Spring Boot or Quarkus
/n
- Kubernetes
/n
- Test automation frameworks
/n
- Data integration and mapping experience
/n/n
