Your Role
We are seeking compassionate Support Workers to join our Women's Crisis Accommodation Services in the St George/Sutherland Region Working as part of a dedicated team, you will provide person-centred, trauma-informed support to women experiencing domestic and family violence. You will help create a safe, welcoming environment while supporting clients through their recovery journey and assisting with the day-to-day operation of the service.
Your Responsibility
- Provide trauma-informed, person-centred support that promotes safety, dignity and empowerment
- Assist with client intake, assessment and orientation into the service
- Work alongside Case Workers to implement individual support and case plans
- Maintain accurate case notes and client records
- Support the day-to-day operation of the accommodation service, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment
- Advocate for clients and liaise with external services and community partners
- Deliver support in accordance with the Client Service Delivery Model (CSDM), organisational policies and best practice
- Maintain a strong commitment to work health and safety, safeguarding and continuous improvement
You Will Need
- St Vincent de Paul Society considers being a woman is a genuine occupational qualification for this position under section 31 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977 (NSW).
- Flexibility to work some weekends, Public Holidays and after hours.
- Certificate IV in Community Services or a related qualification, or equivalent experience
- Experience working within the community services, homelessness or domestic and family violence sector is highly regarded
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent organisational and record keeping skills
- The ability to work effectively under pressure and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- A non-judgemental, respectful and client-focused approach
- Willingness to work a rotating roster including day, afternoon and sleepover shifts
- A current NSW Driver Licence
