We are seeking an experienced Senior Mobile App Developer to join 123STC in Sydney. This is a full-time position on contract for at least 6 months based in Sydney NSW 2000. As a Senior Mobile App Developer, you will take a strategic and technical leadership role in designing, developing and maintaining high-quality mobile applications. You will be responsible for architecting scalable solutions, mentoring junior developers, and ensuring our mobile platforms meet the highest standards of performance, security and user experience. This role is pivotal to our technology roadmap and will have a significant impact on the products we deliver to our users.

Key responsibilities

Design and develop robust, scalable mobile applications for iOS and/or Android platforms using modern development practices and frameworks

Lead the technical architecture and design decisions for mobile projects, ensuring adherence to best practices and coding standards

Mentor and coach junior developers, providing code reviews, technical guidance and fostering a culture of continuous improvement

Collaborate with product managers, designers and other stakeholders to translate requirements into technical specifications and user-focused solutions

Optimise application performance, implement security best practices and ensure applications are maintainable and scalable

Investigate and resolve complex technical issues, troubleshooting bugs and implementing solutions across the mobile development stack

Stay current with emerging mobile technologies, frameworks and industry trends, recommending adoption where beneficial

Contribute to the development and maintenance of development tools, libraries and processes to enhance team productivity

Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including planning, testing, deployment and post-launch support

What we are looking for

6+ years of professional mobile app development experience, with demonstrated expertise in iOS and/or Android development.



Particular focus is on developers that have significant experience with scanner technology implementation and optimisation.

Proven experience architecting and delivering complex mobile applications in production environments

In-depth knowledge of mobile UI/UX principles, accessibility standards and responsive design practices

Demonstrated ability to mentor junior developers and foster a collaborative team environment

Experience with RESTful APIs, mobile security practices, data persistence and offline functionality

Familiarity with version control systems, CI/CD pipelines and agile development methodologies

Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail and the ability to balance technical excellence with pragmatic delivery timelines

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent professional experience

Preferred: Experience with cross-platform frameworks such as React Native or Flutter; knowledge of cloud services (AWS, Azure or Google Cloud); familiarity with machine learning or data analytics integration in mobile applications
